Remembering the Famous ‘Pioneer Cabin Tree’

This iconic giant sequoia tree in Calaveras Big Trees State Park near Angels Camp, known as the "Pioneer Cabin Tree," came falling down during the weekend's powerful storm. The tree, commonly referred to as "The Tunnel Tree," was once open to drive-through motorists. Most recently it was only accessible to hikers.
