Man Accused of Intentionally Hitting 3 Cyclists With Stolen Vehicle Pleads Not Guilty

A man accused of purposely hitting three bicyclists on a Yolo County levee route has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the incident.

The Sacramento Bee reports 38-year-old Alamar Cyril Houston was arraigned Thursday on two counts of attempted murder, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence.

Houston allegedly drove a stolen vehicle into three bicyclists Tuesday.

Houston struck 51-year-old Donald Dumaine, who suffered minor injuries. Then he crashed into 17-year-old Jonathan Jackson, who required surgery on an ankle to remove debris. The other victim has not been identified because he is a juvenile.

During his hearing at Yolo Superior Court, Houston blurted out that he needed mental help.

He is being held at the Yolo County Jail in Woodland.
