A 15-year-old Fairfield girl who seemingly disappared Friday after leaving her house to walk her dog was found safe Saturday. Detectives are speaking with her regarding the circumstances that led to her disappearance.

The Fairfield Police Department asked the public for help finding Haley O'neill, who went missing at about 7 p.m. Friday in the residential area of Acacia Street and Union Avenue. According to a press release, she was found safe just after 3:30 p.m.

The search was prompted when her dog was found tied to a tree at about 6:30 a.m. Saturday morning at Lagoon Valley Park in Vacaville, but O'Neill was no where to be seen at the time, police said.

Sgt. Matt Bloesch said it was not a typical runaway case. Her family found it odd and deeply concerning that the dog was found without O'neill, who sufferes from a minor mental disorder.
