15 People Rescued From Sportfishing Vessel in Marin Headlands

The sportfishing vessel took on water and became grounded at Kirby Cove in the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate National Recreation area.

U.S. Coast Guard Station Golden Gate and a Southern Marin Fire Department boat rescued 15 people from a 50-foot fishing boat that took on water Thursday afternoon, a U.S. Coast Guard public affairs officer said.

The sportfishing vessel took on water and became grounded at Kirby Cove in the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate National Recreation area outside the Golden Gate Bridge, Coast Guard Sector San Francisco Lt. Luciana Ganley said.

No injuries were reported, Ganley said.

Those aboard the vessel were transported to another location, Ganley said.
