Berkeley Really Likes Books: Amazon

East Bay city is rated the third most well read in the country.

Not surprising in a city where award-winning authors Michael Chabon, Michael Lewis and Michael Pollan all live and work,  Amazon.com says the people of Berkeley really love reading, a lot.

In fact, the East Bay city known for its liberal antics and its history of protests is the third best-read city in the nation.

The people of Alexandria, Va. and Cambridge, Mass. were the only two cities with a population of more than 100,000 that read.

Amazon creates the list based on sales on its site and Kindle.
