19-Year-Old Shooting Victim Identified from East Palo Alto



    Police Investigate Fatal Shooting in East Palo Alto

    Police are investigating a fatal shooting in East Palo Alto early Thursday morning. Bob Redell reports.

    The San Mateo County coroner's office identified the 19-year-old man fatally shot in East Palo Alto Thursday as Danilo Perez.

    Perez was a resident of East Palo Alto.

    Officers responded at 12:29 a.m. to an activation of the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system in the 1200 block of Beech Street and located Perez suffering from gunshot wounds.

    Perez died at the scene.

    The shooting death marked the third in East Palo Alto this year, according to the East Palo Alto Police Department.
