Rescue crews searched for a 22-year-old man who disappeared from Roosevelt Beach in Half Moon Bay Sunday afternoon.
Members of the Coast Guard, Half Moon Bay firefighters, and San Mateo Sheriff's deputies said the man was last seen when he ran into the water to retrieve soccer ball he and his friends had been playing with.
By 2:45 p.m., the man's friends hadn't seen him come out of the water, got worried and reported him missing.
Rescue workers are searching on-foot, by boat and in a helicopter.
