2-Alarm Fire Displaces Four in East San Jose

A two-alarm house fire displaced four people in East San Jose early Wednesday morning.

Shortly after 4:45 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a fire in the 3400 block of Story Road, San Jose Fire Capt. Christopher Salcido said. Crews arrived to find a single-family home engulfed in flames,
Salcido said.

The residents were outside of the one-story home when firefighters reached the scene. The blaze was quickly upgraded to a second alarm and was knocked down at about 6 a.m., according to Salcido.

No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the four residents displaced by the fire, Salcido said.

The fire did not spread to any neighboring homes, he said.

Crews remained on the scene this morning checking for any hot spots, according to Salcido.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
