2 Injured in San Ramon Apartment Fire, 1 Jumped From Second Floor

Two people were transported to hospitals early Tuesday morning after a fire broke out in a San Ramon apartment, prompting one of the victims to jump from the second floor.

Around 5:45 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to an apartment building on Canyon Village Circle, according to Battalion Chief John Viera.

Two victims were trapped inside, but one of them jumped out. The other was rescued from the second floor using a ladder. An update on their conditions was not immediately available Tuesday afternoon.

Viera said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but firefighters were able to keep it from spreading to other units. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
