A 2-year-old boy drowned on Sunday in Cupertino, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office reported Monday.
Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup said the child died while swimming at a spa in the 10000 block of Anson Avenue just after 4 p.m.
Deputies arrived on scene five minutes after the call and Santa Clara County Fire Department was already on scene performing CPR, he said.
The boy was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Deputies are still trying to piece together what happened. Stenderup said that investigators are determining who, if anyone, was watching the child when he drowned.
