230 Pounds of Pot, 12 Guns, $14K in Cash Found at Santa Rosa Home: Police

Police responding to a 911 call about a possible shooting at a Santa Rosa home ended up arresting six people and seizing 230 pounds of marijuana, 12 guns and $14,000 in cash. 

Santa Rosa police say after a neighbor reported gunshots Monday morning, officers entered the home and found two children and four men lying on the floor next to one-pound bags of pot.

There was no evidence of a shooting in the 3000 block of Finley Avenue. But a search turned up 36 marijuana plants, 230 pounds of processed pot, cash and 12 firearms including an AK-47 and SKS rifles.

Detectives also said the house was heavily fortified, with metal grates on the windows and numerous surveillance cameras.

Six suspects were arrested on suspicion of various drug-related charges. They are: Claudio Jiminez-Evendano, Erik Almonte-Mondragon, Sergio Sanchez-Sarmento, Adelfo Avendano Lopez, Martin Sarmiento Morales and Isidro Bello-Rosales.

A minor taken to a juvenile detention facility on suspicion of similar charges.
