Despite some soaked pavement, scores of people — from the competitive-minded racers to the creatively-dressed revelers — flocked to San Francisco Sunday for the 108th running of the famous Bay to Breakers foot race.
Mother Nature doused the city with rain early Sunday morning, but she gifted runners and walkers with a mostly dry race.
Gabriel Geay broke the tape first for the men, finishing the 12km race with a time of 35:01. Caroline Rotich led the way for the women, finishing at the 39:28 mark.
The annual race starts near the Bay Bridge at the intersection of Main and Howard streets, snakes west across the city, passes through Golden Gate Park and comes to a close at Ocean Beach.
While some runners take to the pavement in search of low times and a podium finish, most show off colorful and creative costumes as they saunter across the streets of San Francisco.
