A 22-year-old man was killed in Hayward on Thursday night and police are still trying to figure out who did it and why.
Police found William Pacheco Jr. of Hayward with a gunshot wound to his chest just before 10 p.m. on in the 500 block of Jefferson Street. Though Pacheco Jr. received emergency medical assistance, he died on the scene.
Detectives are still investigating the homicide and asking for more information from the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hayward Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau at (510) 293-7034.
