$227,000 Lottery Ticket Sold in SF Still Unclaimed

The winning numbers were 46, 23, 38, 4 and 2.

A MEGA Millions lottery ticket worth $227,000 that was sold at a San Francisco liquor store nearly three months ago has yet to be redeemed, lottery officials said.

The unclaimed ticket was one of 29 in the state that matched he numbers 46, 23, 38, 4 and 2 in a record-breaking $656 million MEGA Millions draw that took place on March 30.

The ticket, sold at Fox Liquors at 570 Larkin St. in the city's Tenderloin neighborhood, will expire on Sept. 26, 180 days after the date of the draw. If it remains unclaimed, the prize funds will be transferred to California schools.

Only one other winning California ticket from that draw, sold in Hollywood, remains unclaimed.

Lottery officials urge winners to sign the back of their tickets, keep them in a safe place and contact a local lottery office as soon as possible.

MEGA Millions is a game played in 44 states and jurisdictions including California. The $656 million prize from the March 30 draw was shared between ticket holders in Illinois, Maryland and Kansas, according to lottery officials.
