27-Year-Old Man Shot Dead in East Palo Alto

    A man died in a shooting early Tuesday morning in East Palo Alto, according to police.

    The shooting occurred around 1:05 a.m. in the 1700 block of Tulane Avenue, police Cmdr. Jerry Alcaraz said.

    According to Alcaraz, the victim is a 27-year-old East Palo Alto man with whom police have had previous interactions.

    Officers found the man suffering from gunshot wounds and performed CPR on him until emergency personnel arrived and took over, pronouncing him dead at the scene, Alcaraz said.

    He said police have limited suspect information and have not established a possible motive for the shooting.

    The identity of the victim is being withheld until his next of kin is notified of his death.
