3-Alarm Fire at Jimmy's Restaurant in San Jose

Firefighters raced to battle a three-alarm fire at "Jimmy's" restaurant in South San Jose, where customers were able to get out safely at breakfast-time without injury.

A San Jose fire dispatcher said there were seven engines and four battalion chiefs fighting the fire near Capitol Expressway and Snell Avenue. The fire ripped through the roof of the popular diner, but was put out shortly after it started at 8:30 a.m.

About 500 people in the area lost power because of the fire.
