3 People “Severely Beaten” in Robberies Near Richmond BART Station

Three people were "severely beaten" in separate robberies that occurred within an hour near the Richmond BART station late Monday, a police lieutenant said.

The robberies occurred after 8 p.m. in the 1300 block of Nevin Avenue, Richmond police Lt. Al Walle said.

In each case, the victim was walking alone when the suspect approached them and took their cellphones and money, Walle said.

One of the suspects, a female, was transported to Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center for an injury to her eye and was in stable condition, he said.

The suspect, who remains at large, is described as a black man standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall last seen wearing all black clothing, Walle said.
