4-Alarm Blaze in Solano County Prompts Mandatory Evacuations

A four-alarm grass fire near Cordelia in Solano County prompted mandatory evacuations, officials said.

The blaze burned about 24 acres in the area of Link and Cordelia roads, just east of Interstate 680 and south of Interstate 80.

Several residences on Thomasson Lane were evacuated by the Solano County Sheriff's Office while firefighters responded to the blaze. Homes on Cordelia Road between Thomasson Lane and Link Road were also evacuated, officials said.

Firefighters said about 50 homes in the area were evacuated.

Cordelia Road is expected to remain closed through the evening.
