About 1,000 Homes Without Power In Walnut Creek and Danville; Number Down from Initially Impacted 4,400

Power crews are working to restore power tonight to about 1,000 customers in Walnut Creek and Danville, according to PG&E.

Power went out at about 8 p.m. and affected more than 4,400 customers, PG&E spokeswoman Jacqueline Ratto said. Within two minutes, crews had restored service to more than 2,600 people.

"We're working as quickly as possible," she said.

Ratto said the cause of the outage is under investigation and so PG&E does not yet know when power will be restored to the balance of its customers.
