Former San Francisco 49er tight end Eason Ramson will visit with coastside students this week to talk about his experience with drug use and crime.
High school and middle school students will gather at Manuel J. Cunha Intermediate School in Half Moon Bay to discuss the issues they face and ways to avoid drug addiction, gangs and bullying.
The youth summit will also include discussions on youth rights and responsibilities, positive body image and self-esteem.
The free event will begin on Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the school, located at 600 Church St. in Half Moon Bay.
The event will include presentations by speakers, a barbecue, a climbing wall, a raffle and bicycle safety tips.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, the Sheriff's Activities League, the city of Half Moon Bay and the Cabrillo Unified School District are hosting the event.
