49ers Wait on Randy Moss's Debut at WR

49ers coach Jim Harbaugh is terse at press conference.

He's in red and gold. And taking a seat.

Future Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss will watch from the sidelines as Ted Ginn Jr. and Michael Crabtree take the field when the 49ers open their preseason schedule on Friday night against Minnesota, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Crabtree, who has never started a preseaon game, and Ginn, the team's primary punt returner, will get the nod over Moss, who was signed out of retirement in the offseason. And that was one of the few "kernels" of information revealed by Harbaugh during a 10-minute interview, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Backup punt returner Kyle Williams, whose two fumbles in the NFC Championship game last year while Ginn sat out with injury contributed to the 49ers' loss, will also receive steady playing time.
