49ers to Host Von Miller, Not Cam Newton

Jim Harbaugh may think that Cam Newton is "plutonium grade raw material" but that doesn't mean he wants the quarterback to visit Santa Clara.

The potential top rated quarterback in next month's NFL draft has released his schedule of what teams he will visit over the next several weeks. And the San Francisco 49ers are not on the list.

It could be that Harbaugh saw all he needed to at the combine and learned everything he needed to about Newton when the two spoke at the combine.

It could also mean the 49ers are not interested. One of the other teams to have a top 10 draft pick that has not scheduled a meeting with Newton is the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys already have Tony Romo but they, like the 49ers, spoke with Newton at the combine.

The schedule released by ESPN's Adam Schefter runs through April 17. The draft is scheduled to start on April 28.

Two players the 49ers will host at team headquarters in Santa Clara are pass rusher Von Miller and North Carolina fullback Ryan Taylor, according to the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.
