Two Suspects Arrested for Stealing $500,000 Worth of Jewelry From San Francisco Store

Two suspects, caught on camera stealing $500,000 worth of merchandise from a jewelry store in San Francisco's Union Square neighborhood, were arrested Friday.

The surveillance footage shows one of the suspects entering the parking garage around 3:45 a.m. June 23, while the second suspects walked into the store, smashed display cases and put the merchandise into a duffel bag before escaping.

Patrol officers were able to recognize both suspects after viewing video surveillance images, and nab them.

San Francisco resident Andreaus Trevell Garrett, 24, was charged with second-degree burglary, grand theft, possession of stolen property, conspiracy and carrying a concealed weapon.

The second suspect, Carlnell McKinley Pitts, 27, also of San Francisco, faces multiple charges, including second-degree burglary, grand theft, possession of stolen property and conspiracy.

The San Francisco Police Department is asking for anyone who has information regarding the stolen jewelry to contact the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
