77-Year-Old Dies in Motorcycle Crash Into Curb in San Jose

A 77-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash into a curb and a tree Monday afternoon in San Jose, police said.

Officers responded at 4 p.m. to the crash in the 600 block of Saratoga Avenue.

A preliminary investigation showed that the man was riding a 2019 Honda Gold Wing bike across a parking lot when he struck the curb and then the tree.

He died where he crashed. Police said it appears neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the crash. Forty-one people have died this year in San Jose in 39 fatal crashes.

Anyone with more information about the crash is asked to call San Jose police Detective Matt Templeman at (408) 277-4654.
