About 300 students will race in Pittsburg on Thursday in what will be the first Contra Costa County Special Olympics Track Meet, according to Pittsburg Unified School District officials.
Athletes from schools in Antioch, Brentwood, Pittsburg and Oakley will compete at the track meet that is part of the Special Olympics Schools Partnership Program.
About 100 Pittsburg High School students will also volunteer at the event.
