Adopt a Cat With Giant Spirit

The San Francisco Giants advancing to the National League Championship Series is inspiring everyone to wear orange and black -- if they haven't already been donning the hometeam colors up until now.

The same spirit has swept through the Peninsula Humane Society and SPCA, where potential cat owners can take home a new four-legged family member at a discount price.

The Humane Society is offering Giants-colored cats -- those with orange or black fur -- for just a $9 adoption fee. The normal fee ranges from $50 to $80. There's also a special gift for the new owner who comes up with the best Giants-themed name for their new kitty.

The shelter has about 50 cats that are all black, partially black or orange, spokesman Scott Delucchi told Bay City News.

All adoptions include spay or neuter surgery, insertion of an identification microchip, all vaccinations and a health and behavior screening.
