Alameda Food Bank Running Out of Food

The next food drive is in May.

Holiday donations that once filled the shelves of the Alameda County Community Food Bank are running out.

They recieved 650,000 pounds of food during the holidays but that food will be gone by the end of this week. They work with agencies throughout the county to help families in need.

The next big food drive is in May, with the National Letter Carriers Drive; however, last April the food bank had one of the biggest demands ever.

They expect this year to be the same as families have children home from school for spring break.

Managers at the food bank say the best way to donate is with money. ACCFB has the ability to buy food in bulk at a lower price.
