Fatal Crash Blocks All Lanes of Westbound Hwy 84 in Alameda County

All lanes of westbound state Highway 84 have reopened following a fatal crash in Alameda County Saturday evening, the California Highway Patrol said.

The collision was reported at about 5:45 p.m. just east of Interstate Highway 680 near Sunol. A Sigalert was issued shortly after 6 p.m., according to the CHP.

At least one person died in the crash, and there are reports of other possible injuries. The cause remains under investigation.
