Antioch Teen Forced Into Prostitution Escapes: Police

An Antioch teen who said she was kidnapped and forced into prostitution was able to escape her alleged captor in Stockton last weekend, according to police.

The 17-year-old girl ran away from home after a fight with her parents about two months ago and decided to meet up with 20-year-old Chester Brown, whom she first met a few months ago in Antioch, according to Stockton police Officer Joe Silva.

Silva said Brown took the girl to Stockton where he forced her into working as a prostitute and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions.

Last week he allegedly threatened to kill the girl if she tried to escape, the spokesman said.

On Sunday afternoon, police received a call from the girl's father in Antioch who said he'd received a text from his daughter saying she was in Stockton against her will and had been forced into prostitution.

About an hour later, the girl called 911 from a Motel 6 off of Interstate Highway 5.

Officers arrived at the motel a short time later and found the girl, who was later reunited with her parents.

Police also located Brown after he drove into the motel parking lot with two 14-year-old girls and a 16-year-old girl, Silva said.

One of the 14-year-olds had been reported missing out of San Francisco and had an outstanding arrest warrant, he said.

"What was alarming to us at the police department was that the 14-year-old girl who was arrested was teaching the other girls how to be prostitutes," the spokesman said.

Police are investigating whether Brown had also victimized the other girls in the car with him, Silva said.

He was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, making terrorist threats, pimping and sexual assault among other crimes.

Police advise anyone who suspects someone is a victim of sex trafficking or other types of human trafficking to call 911.

Victims of human trafficking can get help by calling the National Human Trafficking Resource Center at (888) 373-7888 or by sending a text message to BeFree (233733).
