Firefighters in San Jose are responding to a two-alarm fire in an apartment building Sunday morning.
Units responded to fire reported in an upper unit of a two-story building at 5748 Via Monte Drive at 9:53 a.m., San Jose fire Capt. Barry Stallard said.
The building was evacuated, Stallard said, and two injuries have been reported.
A firefighter was taken to the hospital with a shoulder injury, and a building resident cut his hand when punching through glass to get to a fire extinguisher. The resident was treated at the scene.
Firefighters remained at the scene at 11 a.m. attempting to contain the fire, Stallard said.
