Area Schools Thank Vets with Valentines

Representative Jackie Speier has asked about 50 Peninsula schools to make Valentine's Day cards that will be delivered to servicemen and women thanking them for their sacrifices, reports the SF Examiner.

The students ranging in age from two to twenty came up with over 3,000 cards for the veterans

"I am deeply touched by the heartfelt comments and beautiful art our students have created," Speier said. "They clearly care about the sacrifices made by our veterans.

Some of the Valentine's were delivered to the VA Palo Alto Health Center, and some will go to vets at Fort Miley VA Medical Center in San Francisco, on Monday.
