El Cerrito police are looking for a suspect who they say robbed a bank of "several hundred thousand dollars" and is considered “armed and dangerous.”

The man walked into the US Bank on Monday just after 10:30 a.m., police said, by entering through a Safeway store where the bank branch is located.

The man handed the teller a demand note asking for money. The teller complied, filling “several bags with cash,” police said.

Anyone with information about the identity or location of the suspect is urged to contact the El Cerrito Police Department at (510) 215-4400 or email investigations@ci.el-cerrito.ca.us. There is a reward for information leading to the arrest.
