Arrest Made in San Jose Gang-Related Shooting

An arrest has been made in an apparently gang-related shooting that took place in unincorporated San Jose on Sunday, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

One male victim was shot in the leg and injured in the shooting, which took place Sunday at 8:40 p.m. in the driveway of a home on the 3100 block of East Hills Drive, according to Sgt. Kurtis Stenderup.

Investigators were able to get a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle in the shooting and identified Michael Valadez, an 18-year-old San Jose resident, as a suspect, Stenderup said.

Valadez was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and discharging a firearm into an inhabited dwelling on Monday after he was identified as a suspect in the shooting.
