Two women in San Francisco seated inside a car while their friend pulled money from a nearby ATM were kidnapped by an adult male suspect late Tuesday.
The snatching happened just before 11:30 p.m. when the suspect hopped in the vehicle's driver seat and sped off with the two female victims still trapped inside, police said. After hearing screams, the other woman standing at the ATM promptly called authorities when the suspect fled the scene.
San Francisco police alerted local departments about the kidnapping, and the suspect was arrested by Daly City authorities less than one hour after the heist, police said.
The two female victims were not injured, police said.
The male suspect remains in custody Tuesday, police said. He faces kidnapping charges.
