Average San Francisco Rent Up to Almost $3,500 a Month: Report

A new report finds average rent in San Francisco now hovers just below $3,500 per month.

One caveat to this study is that it considers buildings that have 50 or more units that are a maximum of three bedrooms.

Nick Grotjahn, a representative from Real Answers, which determined the current figure to be $3,458 (14 percent higher than the same time last year), told SFGate that he thinks that the spate of new buildings coming up in the city will only "mute demand, maybe slow it down a little bit.”
