Awash in Blue and Gold: Oakland, San Francisco Bathe Cities in Warriors' Colors

From the Oakland Tribune Tower to the San Francisco International airport, public buildings and fans are awash in the colors of the Golden State Warriors, rooting the team on to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.

Blue and gold lights, flickering from one color to the next, are also lighting up Oakland City Hall and the courthouse to show city pride.

Fans also are buying up Warriors gear at a frenetic pace, and decking their cars out with Warriors flags whipping in the wind as the Dubs faithful cruise through town.

Don Nipoy was shopping for Warriors gear at Westfield Mall in San Francisco this week, as his young daughter bounced a basketball in the store.

Even though he's got a new baby on the way, he hopes to still catch at least some of the game.

"I'll probably be watching from home or the hospital," he said. "Because my wife is expecting. Yes, I'll be asking for a room with a TV."

NBC Bay Area's Terry McSweeney contributed to this report.
