The Richmond BART station was temporarily closed Thursday night while police investigate an unattended package found on the nearby Amtrak platform, according to BART police.
Richmond-bound trains were being stopped at the El Cerrito del Norte Station, according to Lt. Tyrone Forte. No trains at the time were traveling in or out of Richmond.
BART announced at about 10:40 p.m. the Richmond station was re-opened.
