BART officials announced Friday the planned Nov. 22 opening of a new connecting service to Oakland International Airport.
Four three-car automated people movers will transport riders from the Coliseum station to the Oakland International Airport station and back.
Officials said the "BART to OAK" people movers will travel at 30 mph, and the trips to and from the airport will take about eight minutes.
The trains will run every five minutes on weekdays and weekends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and in intervals of 10 and 20 minutes during other weekday operating hours between 5 a.m. and midnight. Saturday service will start at 6 a.m., and Sunday service will start at 8 a.m. Service on weekends will run until midnight.
The $484 million project broke ground in 2010.
Officials said AirBART buses that currently transport passengers to the airport will stop operation on Nov. 22.
There will be a fee to ride the "BART to OAK" movers in addition to regular BART tickets, but one-way adult fares between the airport and various stations in the Bay Area are available.

BART will hold a public celebration on Nov. 21 to give the community a chance to check out the new stations and take a free ride on the trains.
