BART Testing Out New Seats on Trains

BART is asking for a help from riders in the East Bay.

BART officials say they have the oldest fleet of train cars in the nation and are preparing to replace them with passengers’ input.

Monday, riders are being asked to test and choose between three potential seats for BART's new “fleet of the future.”

Seat testing begins at 3 pm. Monday afternoon at the Union City station.

The first three events will be held:

• October 7th at Union City Station (3 pm to 7 pm)
• October 8th at Pittsburg/Bay Point Station (3 pm to 7 pm)
• October 9th at Downtown Berkeley Station (10 am to 6 pm)

Six additional events will be held at the following stations at dates to be determined later:

• Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre
• Balboa Park
• West Dublin/Pleasanton
• El Cerrito del Norte
• Lake Merritt
• Powell Street
