Candlelight Vigil Held to Remember Santa Rosa Teen

A Santa Rosa college student who died at a spring break party near Santa Barbara was remembered as a smart, fun and beautiful woman. Dozens of friends and family members held a candlelight vigil in honor of 18-year-old Giselle Ayala Monday night at Santa Rosa High School.

Her older sister, Nastassia Ayala, said it's hard to believe she will never hear her laugh again, "She's my sister she's my everything she's perfect and deserves the best where ever she is."

The Cal Poly student went to a large party in Isla Vista Friday and a jogger found her dead in the ocean the next morning.

Nastassia Ayala says her family believes Giselle got separated from friends when the party was broken up and fell off a cliff into the water. She says people from around the world are sending condolences. "It's amazing how people have responded and shown love and sent flowers," she said.

While family and friends mourn, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death. The investigation may take several weeks.
