A bag of bones was fished out of the San Francisco Bay early Tuesday morning, police said.
A passerby found the bones just before 8:40 a.m. near Pier 14, police said.
By 11 a.m., a medical examiner had determined that the bones belong to an animal, according to police.
No further details were immediately available.
