Banned Robot Dance Party Obtains City Permit to Perform at Dolores Park

After being banned from Dolores Park in June, Robot Dance Party is back -- with a permit and the ability to stay.

Robot Dance Party, otherwise known as Chris Hirst, was told he could not keep performing at the park unless he got the correct city permits to play his loud music.

Hirst was able to obtain the required permit during a meeting with Supervisor Scott Wiener last month, according to Robot Dance Party’s Facebook page. The July 24 meeting also discussed how to protect the park.

“We just need to have real conversation, human to robot,” Hirst said in a statement on Facebook.

On July 31st, Hirst posted he received his permit and was ready to dance.

As of last Saturday, Robot Dance Party was back in action at Dolores Park.
