San Francisco, Oakland Ranked Among Top 12 MLB Cities: Report

San Francisco baseball fans may not have much to cheer for right about now with their team beginning its winter hibernation, but a recent report says that the city by the bay is the sixth-best Major League Baseball city in the nation.

WalletHub, a financial advisory company, utilized a team of analysts to examine 361 cities around the country that feature a MLB, Minor League Baseball or college baseball team and delineate which city featured the best home for baseball based on 25 factors, which included ticket prices, team performance and fan engagement.

When all three levels of baseball were taken into account, San Francisco ranked as the eighth-best city to enjoy America's pastime in the United States. New York, St. Louis and Los Angeles grabbed the first three spots, respectively.

Those three cities also checked in as the best places to take in a MLB ballgame, according to the report.

Oakland settled in as the 12th-best location for baseball when only the highest professional rank was taken into account and te East Bay city also scored in 12th place when all three levels were considered.

San Jose checked in at No. 125 on the overall list and tied for 27th place when it simply comes to MLB action.
