Polina Edmunds' performance at the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships in Boston this past weekend is described by her coach as charming and nearly flawless.
The performance not only netted her a silver medal, but also a roster spot onto the United States three-women Olympic team.
The 15-year-old from San Jose, Calif., is now focused on earning a gold medal while representing the United States at the Winter Games in Sochi.
"I just haven't really set into the fact that I'm going to the Olympics yet," Polina said. "I think in a few days it'll start to sink in and I'll be really, really excited."

Polina, a sophomore at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, will be the youngest Olympian since Tara Lipinski.
Neighbors and her school have congratulated Polina with signs.
The teen remains laser-focused on preparing for the Olympics, something she has worked for since she was a child.
Polina was first put on skates at 20 months old, her mother, Nina Edmunds, said.
"Of course this is a dream come true and it's very exciting for us," said Edmunds, a former skater and one of Polina's three coaches.
All of her coaches said between now and when they leave for Sochi, they'll spend every moment fine tuning her routine.

"Polina has the rare ability as a figure (skater) to do the most difficult jumps in skating and make them look effortless," said David Glynn, one of Polina's coaches.
Mitty High School is also home to two other Olympians and gold medalists: Kerri Walsh Jennings in volleyball and Brandi Chastain in soccer.
