Here’s some sweet news: Ben & Jerry’s is hosting its 36th annual Free Cone DayTuesday, meaning patrons can snag a scoop of ice cream for free.
From 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., the scoop shops will offer the flavorful freebie.

According to the company, Free Cone Day dates back to 1979 when Ben & Jerry’s celebrated its first year in business by scooping free cones all day in the company’s little hometown of Burlington, Vermont.
Today, the global giveaway spans shops across 36 countries and churns out more than one million free scoops each year.
