Bernie Sanders Fans Line Up for Miles in Oakland

As Donald Trump plans to descend on the San Jose Convention Center Thursday night, his polar opposite, Bernie Sanders, released a time-lapse video showing the progressive presidential candidate’s last stop in Oakland on Memorial Day.

Oakland police estimated about 20,000 people came to Frank Ogawa Plaza at City Center Monday evening to see Sanders speak – and don a Warriors cap, hours before the basketball team clinched the Western Conference Finals.

While he trails behind Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the polls, and it’s unclear who would better beat Trump in the general elections, Sanders definitely has loving fans in the Bay Area.

His Facebook video, which had more than one million views and 17,000 shares on Thursday, shows how the line to see him speak went on for miles.

“Hillary Clinton said the primary is over," the Sanders camp posted."Donald J. Trump thinks we can be ignored. Oakland California disagrees.”
