A bicyclist died late Tuesday after a collision with a vehicle, according to San Jose police.
The fatal collision was reported just before 7 p.m. in the area of Vista Park Drive and Branham Lane. When officers arrived on scene they determined an adult male had been struck by a vehicle.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. The bicyclist was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The collision marks San Jose's 40th traffic fatality of 2013, and the 25th vehicle vs. pedestrian fatality of the year.
