Biden's Favorite Ice Cream Maker Lands Seat at the State of the Union

Getting a $250,000 loan from the government can have some pretty sweet rewards.

For Kendra Baker and Zachary Davis the Recovery Act SBA loan led to the realization of their dream of opening an ice cream shop in Santa Cruz.

They were so excited about realizing their dream that Baker and Davis posted a YouTube video thanking the government for its help.

That video got the chatty vice president excited and Joe Biden called the two and told them he was coming to try some ice cream after seeing the "damn good" video.

Now the owners of the Penny Ice Creamery get a front row seat to history as Michelle Obama's guests at the State of the Union Tuesday.

Mrs. Obama released a list of her special guests, who will sit in the First Lady's Box as President Barack Obama speaks to the nation.

The Santa Cruz ice creamery opened four months ago and now employs 11 people.
