State Highway 152 in Santa Clara County is blocked in both directions after a big rig carrying frozen chickens overturned early Sunday morning, according to Caltrans.
The crash occurred on Highway 152 near state Highway 156 east of Gilroy some time before 10 a.m., when the vehicle overturned.
Caltrans said the truck driver was not injured and no other vehicles appeared to have been involved, but the disabled big rig cannot be towed before another truck arrives to take on the frozen payload.
Caltrans representatives said the roadway was not expected to be cleared until later this afternoon.
Motorists were being advised to take alternate routes.
