Bomb Scare Shuts Down Two San Leandro Schools

Two schools in San Leandro were evacuated because of a bomb threat  this morning but no bomb was found and students are back in class, San  Leandro police spokesman Lt. Pete Ballew said.

Ballew said officials at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School at 1300  Williams St. called police at 10:15 a.m. today after receiving
 the threat.

Police searched the school and found no suspicious objects, he  said.

As a precaution, Woodrow Wilson and nearby John Muir Middle  School, located at 1444 Williams St., were evacuated, Ballew said.

Ballew said students at Woodrow Wilson didn't return to class  after the bomb scare because they were scheduled to have a short school day  anyway.
